Thoughts

To My lovely Gret, Not only were you my Grandma but you were a second mum, a best friend, a teacher, a supporter and a safe place for me. You have been a huge part of my life, every day and I’m so blessed to have had you there all along. You not only raised my mum, but you helped raise my brother, sister and I and then you helped me raise my two boys too. I genuinely couldn’t have done it all without you and for that I will be forever in your debt. I have countless precious and special memories of our times together and I will remember them fondly forever. Life will just not be the same without you Gret, my heart is broken and heavy since you passed and I doubt it will ever fully heal but I know that you are at peace now and no longer suffering. You will also be reunited with your brothers and sisters, your parents and of course your beloved grandson Dan. Please know that we will look after Grandad for you as best we can. We won’t do it as well as you did, particularly when it comes to making stewed apple or ironing the duvet covers but we will do our very best. You were such a special, wonderful lady. We are so lucky to have had you in our lives. I will miss you so very, very much until we meet again. I love you Gret. Thank you for everything. God bless you Grandma. May you rest in peace xxxx

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
